Wasteborn
Terms of Service
Last updated: 1 August 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Uppercut Labs (“we”, “us”), the British studio that publishes Wasteborn (“the Game”). By downloading, installing or playing Wasteborn you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Game. Our Privacy Policy sits at /wastebornprivacy and forms part of these terms.
1. Who can play
You may use the Game if you are old enough to agree to these terms in your country. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or guardian has read and agreed to these terms on your behalf and permits any purchases you make.
2. Your licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and play Wasteborn on devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial entertainment, in line with the rules of the store you downloaded it from.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, rent, sub-licence, reverse-engineer, decompile or attempt to extract the source code or assets of the Game, except to the extent the law expressly allows it despite this restriction.
3. Your account
Wasteborn uses an account so your progress can be saved and restored across sessions and devices. You agree to give accurate information when you register, to keep your login credentials secure, and to accept responsibility for activity that happens under your account.
Accounts are personal to you. Do not share, sell, trade or transfer an account, and do not use anyone else’s. Tell us at hello@uppercutlabs.co.uk if you think your account has been accessed without your permission.
You can delete your account at any time from within the Game or by emailing us. Deleting your account removes your saved progress, and any unused in-game items or currency associated with it are lost and are not refundable.
4. Purchases, virtual items and subscriptions
Wasteborn may offer in-app purchases, including one-off unlocks, virtual items or currency, and auto-renewing subscriptions. All payments are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play under their own terms — we never see or store your payment card details. Prices, billing periods and renewal terms are shown to you at the point of purchase.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You manage or cancel subscriptions in your App Store or Google Play account settings, not in the Game.
Virtual items and in-game currency are a limited licence to use them inside Wasteborn. They have no real-world value, cannot be exchanged for money, and cannot be transferred outside the Game. Refund requests are handled by the store you purchased from, under its own refund policy. Nothing here affects the statutory rights you have as a consumer.
5. Fair play
You agree not to:
- cheat, exploit bugs, or use modified clients, bots, macros or third-party tools that alter gameplay;
- interfere with, overload or disrupt the Game or the servers behind it;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, other accounts or other players’ data;
- use the Game to break the law, harass anyone, or infringe anyone else’s rights;
- sell, buy or advertise accounts, progress or in-game items for real money.
We may suspend or terminate access, and reset progress obtained unfairly, where we reasonably believe these rules have been broken.
6. Ownership
Wasteborn — including its code, design, artwork, audio, characters, world and branding — belongs to Uppercut Labs or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property law. Nothing in these terms transfers any of those rights to you beyond the licence in section 2.
You are welcome to record, stream and share your own gameplay footage, including on monetised channels, provided you do not present it as an official Uppercut Labs product and do not distribute the Game’s assets on their own.
7. Updates and availability
We may update, change or remove features, content and game balance as Wasteborn develops. We aim to keep the Game and its save servers available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access — maintenance, technical faults, store policies or events outside our control may interrupt it.
We may discontinue Wasteborn or its online services. If we do, we will give reasonable notice in the Game or on this page where practical.
8. Disclaimers
The Game is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work hard to keep it stable and to protect saved progress, but we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will never be lost. Keep this in mind before making purchases tied to progress.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Uppercut Labs is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the Game, and our total liability in connection with the Game is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud, and nothing affects your statutory consumer rights.
10. Apple and Google
These terms are between you and Uppercut Labs, not Apple or Google. The store you downloaded from has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the Game and is not responsible for claims relating to it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms for App Store downloads and may enforce them against you. Your use of the Game must also comply with the terms of the store you downloaded it from.
11. Ending these terms
You can end these terms at any time by deleting the Game and your account. We may end them, or suspend your access, if you materially breach them. Sections that by their nature should survive — ownership, disclaimers, liability and governing law — continue to apply afterwards.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the Game changes. The current version always lives on this page with the date shown at the top, and we will flag material changes in the Game where practical. Continuing to play after a change means the updated terms apply.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales — except that consumers resident elsewhere keep the protection of the mandatory rules of their home country.
